Most of us know that our Yoga practice consists of physical movement or “Asana.” However, asana is only the third of Eight “branches on the “yoga tree!” The name 8 Branches comes from the Sanskrit term Ashtanga and refers to the eight limbs of yoga: Yama (attitudes toward our environment), Niyama (attitudes toward ourselves), Asana (physical postures), Pranayama (restraint or expansion of the breath), Pratyahara (withdrawal of the senses), Dharana (concentration), Dhyana (meditation) and Samadhi (complete integration).  Join us for this delightful, enlightening workshop. Learn what and WHY we do what we do when we practice YOGA.CLIMB THE TREE 🙂
Workshop Fee: $40 Register online. Mention “8 Limbs” when registering.

Chak·ra: Noun: (in Eastern Philosophy) Each of the centers of spiritual power in the human body, usually considered to be seven in number.   The concept of chakra originates in Hindu texts, featured in tantric and yogic traditions of Hinduism and Buddhism. Its name derives from the Sanskrit word for “wheel” or “turning.” Part lecture, part practicum, this workshop will explore the seven major energy centers of the body. Learn the location and significance of each of these body powerhouses and how to identify energy blockages that prevent ultimate health and well-being. Design a yoga practice to break through stagnation and fine tune your energetic body.
