ALMA AGUILAR, ERYT-500*
Alma is the Director of Yoga Vallarta & Pilates Studio PV and has over 25 years of yoga practice. Coming to her mat, she thought of yoga purely a physical workout, in fact she would leave class a few minutes before savasana and soon realized that yoga, along with greatly improving her health, was opening up new dimensions in her life she never dreamed possible.
Alma was raised in Los Angeles, California, where she received her 500 HR Yoga Teacher Training at Yoga at the Village in Glendale. Her teaching style is supported by extensive background training in Hatha, Iyengar, Ashtanga, Restorative, and meditation. Alma teaches from a great depth of understanding and inquisitiveness of the human experience.
She has been facilitating classes, workshops and Yoga Teacher Trainings since 2006 and is a registered Yoga Alliance Continuing Education Provider (YACEP). Alma studied with many inspiring, talented teachers, including a 500-hr training with Elyse Briggs and Carl Dawson, as well as trainings with Paul King (Iyengar Yoga), Ellen Voehringer (Hatha Yoga) and Terri Pitts (Ashtanga Yoga). She is eternally grateful for her teachers.

GUEST TEACHERS
TERRY CONNELL, LAc
Terry started his professional career as a teacher and shifted to being a therapist when he realized he liked the one on one interaction with his students, but not the lesson plans and grading papers. A graduate of Temple University with a Master’s Degree in Counseling Psychology, Terry worked for years with adolescents in psychiatric hospitals. His training, however, did not prepare him for the bureaucracy of managed care. The bottom line attitude and decreased focus on quality of care left Terry feeling uninspired and defeated. In addition, Terry is a graduate of the New England School of Acupuncture May, 1998 with extensive training in both Chinese and Japanese styles of acupuncture. He worked for AIDS Care Project/Pathways to Wellness in Boston providing over 10,000 treatments, treating medication side effects and the issues associated with chronic disease. Through this experience, Terry gained experience treating musculo-skeletal issues, menstrual disorders and various gastrointestinal problems and was, without question, the most amazing, humbling, nurturing, challenging place he will ever know.
FRANCES ROTHENBERG, RVT, ERYT-500*
Frances was introduced to yoga in 1999 and credits yoga for transforming her life physically, mentally and spiritually. She holds a degree in Kinesiology from U.C.L.A. and has worked in medicine since 1983. She truly believes that to experience our lives to the fullest, our bodies were meant to move. Thus, her teaching style reflects an emphasis on breath and movement to maintain a healthy mind-body connection. Having studied with numerous amazing teachers, she has synthesized many styles into a stew of slow flow with alignment based postures and breath awareness. She received her 200 hour teacher certification from Yoga at the Village and her 300 hour advanced training from Black Dog Yoga under the mentorship of Sigrid Matthews. In addition, she holds a certification in Therapeutic yoga and is a certified Level 1 Yoga Tune Up® teacher.
