Using
the eyes in the back of your head, putting your toes on your heels...
It shouldn’t matter that everything’s backward
if we’re truly balanced, working equally, right?
But it does matter because generally we’re not balanced.
We think we’re moving forward and that misconception can hold you
back.
This workshop will include be a strong, safe practice
approaching things you might
even be afraid to consider; handstands, headstands, backbends, leg behind
head
and any other ridiculous thing we can come up with.
Don’t worry if your mind or body won’t allow you to do any of these
things.
It won’t matter. Getting free of the fear of them, will.
Bring your mat, a journal, a pen, and an open mind.
Nancy began her yoga practice with Alan Finger at the age of 27. The ten-year
study focused only on breath, meditation, drishti and bandha. Later she
was introduced to flow classes and began teaching them in short order. It
was only when Nancy practiced Ashtanga with Dena Kingsburg though that she
felt she'd found a physical practice as rewarding for her as what her
early studies had been, and it became her path. Dena later guided her to
India where she was introduced to Guru Pattabhi Jois, whom Nancy now
refers to as her teacher. Presently, at age 43, she is now being faced
with a new challenge; integrating her Ashtanga practice into something
that super cedes even it, MOTHERHOOD! Teaching Ashtanga yoga is one of
Nancy's greatest joys.
