Shari
Goodhartz, RYT
Shari started practicing yoga in hopes of finding a healthy way to counter
the stress of a television writing career; from her first class, she knew
she had found something that could work. Three years later, Shari completed
the Center for Yoga's teacher training, where she first learned about
Anusara Yoga, a hatha style created by John Friend that elegantly integrates
bio-mechanical science with life-affirming, heart-opening spirituality. In
addition to her ongoing practice, Shari regularly attends workshops to
broaden and deepen her understanding of yoga, and to hone her teaching and
therapeutic skills. Her compassionate, non-competitive attitude creates a
playful environment that celebrates the innate value of every student, and
provides the technical tools that empower students to safely master more
challenging poses. Shari also enjoys studying yoga philosophy with Dr.
Douglas Brooks from the University of Rochester, and Sanskrit with Loyola
Marymount's Marcy Braverman. She continues to work as a professional writer
and tries to bring yogic clarity into her writing, and her life.

Nancy Goodstein
Nancy began her yoga practice with Alan Finger at the age of 27. The two-year
study focused only on breath, meditation, drishti and bandha. Later she
was introduced to flow classes and began teaching them in short order. It
was only when Nancy practiced Ashtanga with Dena Kingsburg though that she
felt she'd found a physical practice as rewarding for her as what her
early studies had been, and it became her path. Dena later guided her to
India where she was introduced to Guru Pattabhi Jois, whom Nancy now
refers to as her teacher. Presently, at age 43, she is now being faced
with a new challenge; integrating her Ashtanga practice into something
that supercedes even it, MOTHERHOOD! Teaching Ashtanga yoga is one of
Nancy's greatest joys.
